    A Fellow in The Royal College of Dentists of Canada, (FRCD(C)) is a dentist who has successfully completed the National Dental Specialty Examination (NDSE), has been awarded a Fellowship diploma, has subscribed to the declaration, has paid the prescribed fees, and is in good moral and ethical standing in the profession.

    A Fellow-Elect is a dentist who has passed the NDSE, has applied to the RCDC to become a Fellow, has had that Fellowship application approved by the Registrar and is awaiting Convocation to become a Fellow. 

    A Member (MRCD(C)) is a dentist who was awarded a membership certificate by RCDC prior to January 1, 1995, a dentist who was certified as a specialist in a recognized specialty by a provincial licensing body prior to January 1, 1973, and who made application to RCDC prior to the 31st of December 1973; or a dentist who successfully completed the examination required by RCDC for admission to membership and had been admitted to RCDC as a Member prior to January 1, 1994.

    A Life Fellow is a Fellow in good standing who has fully retired from active practice and had his request for Life Fellowship approved by Council. Similarly, a Life Member is a Member in good standing who has fully retired from active practice and has had his request request for Life Membership approved by Council.
