The Dental Specialty Assessment and Training Program (DSATP) is a gap training program with an initial three-month assessment. The total duration of the program may range between three to twelve months. The Program is intended to assess whether the clinical knowledge, skill, and judgment of internationally-trained dental specialists or graduates of non-accredited dental specialty programs is equivalent to the standards established by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC).
In order to apply for admission into a DSATP, applicants must first complete the Dental Specialty Core Knowledge Examination (DSCKE). Interested parties should contact Canadian dental faculties directly to ensure that they meet all of the admissions requirements for entry into the program.
