Application

The application window for the 2024 Fellowship Examination closed on December 18, 2023. Late applications may be accepted on a case by case basis, and will be subject to late fees, as outlined on the Fees page.

The application window for the 2025 Fellowship Examination will open in Fall 2024.

Personal Information

The personal data provided to The Royal College of Dentists of Canada (RCDC, the College) is privileged and confidential, and will be used only for official business. This includes verifying identity, providing a means of communication in a timely manner, compliance with provincial and federal statutes and activities approved by the Board of Directors.

The College’s privacy policy and procedures comply with federal legislation called the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). The information collected will not be sold or rented to telemarketers, mailing list brokers, or pharmaceutical or dental equipment companies.

Language

The Fellowship Examination is offered in all specialties either in English or French. A candidate’s choice of language will apply to all aspects of the examination process. Language choice may not be changed after the application deadline.

Special Accommodation

A special accommodation may be granted on an individual basis on the grounds of a disability or medical condition, or religious reasons. In order for appropriate arrangements to be made, candidates requiring special accommodation must identify their requirement for accommodation when completing the online application form and submit the official request form within 60 days of the Examination. The College’s special accommodation policy is compliant with accessibility standards under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

Completing an Application

Individuals wishing to challenge the Fellowship Examination must ensure that College receives the application requirements below by the prescribed deadline. An application will only be considered to be complete when all three requirements are received.

  • The online application;
  • Payment for all applicable fees; and,
  • Proof of eligibility. *

* Proof of completion is required for applicants who have already completed an accredited dental specialty training program or the Dental Specialty Assessment and Training Program (DSATP) for internationally-trained dental specialists.

Proof of enrollment is required for applicants who are in the final year of an accredited dental specialty training program or who are enrolled in a DSATP. For applicants enrolled in a DSATP, proof of enrollment must be supplemented with confirmation of academic preparedness to challenge the Examination.
